Bodyguard presents fragrant fruit aromas of blackberry, raspberry, currant and crème de cassis. Notes of cocoa, coffee, dark chocolate, licorice and sweet pipe tobacco are rounded out with whispers of truffle, toffee, mocha and menthol. A juicy, fleshy palate offers bright, generous flavors of cherry, cranberry, strawberry and blueberry accented with black raspberry and tamarind with focused energy, vibrant berry fruit and ripe, polished tannins.

The Holus Bolus Syrah is sourced from a 5 acre Syrah planting at John Sebastiano Vineyard in the eastern edge of the Sta. Rita Hills appellation. The block sits at 1200’ elevation and is consistently exposed to the brunt of the Pacific breeze. This sunny but cool site lends a lovely spice and bright acidity to the wine. The wine is made with 25% whole clusters at fermentation and aged for 15 moths in 350 liter barrels.
